A consultation is generally the first step in charting the course for your child’s educational future. These meetings typically last about an hour. If you’re thinking about a private school for your child, Dr. Munson will provide an overview of the admissions process and answer your questions about school visits, admissions testing, and application requirements. If you need additional assistance after the initial consultation, Dr. Munson can work with you and your family to develop a customized private school selection plan. Depending on your child’s age, you will want to pursue either the Preschool Selection or School Selection Plan.
Preschool Selection and School Selection Plans
Every plan is individualized based on your child’s (and family’s) needs. The process involves gathering a detailed history of your child, their educational experiences, and your family’s educational preferences. Dr. Munson will thoroughly review of all supporting material (i.e. grades, standardized test scores, teacher comments, psychoeducational evaluations, etc.). Depending on the situation, a classroom observation may be useful as well. At the final meeting, you will receive a written report outlining recommendations for schools that could be a good match for your child along with contact information for each of those schools.
